At McLean Data Solutions we promote the use of 2FA at every available opportunity, simply put 2FA requires 2 factors to authenticate your security for access. 1 factor is normally your username (email)/password + an additional verification via a text code sent to your cell phone, a key fob type token generator or an app on your phone that receives constantly changing codes which you must enter in conjunction with your username/password.
This process greatly hinders hackers which attempt to compromise your sensitive accounts which hold critical data. While previously used in financial, government and law enforcement primarily, this security method is becoming mainstream and a form of 2FA will be built into Windows 10 Operating System which will roll out later this year.
